Valor Services & Support

Implementation

Valor Systems provides comprehensive assistance with all aspects of installation. Our team of responsive professionals will coordinate the entire project from the initial stages through final acceptance of our system. Our process begins with a project schedule that is developed by team members of your agency and the Valor project manager.

A great deal of initial setup and configuration can be accomplished to ensure an efficient and successful implementation. An on-line preview of the configured system enables your agency to prepare your team for training on their new software.

Support

Support

Valor Systems’ support extends beyond the implementation. We offer a User Help Desk that provides personalized support to answer any questions about system operations that your staff may have. In addition, a System Support Link is available to provide remote maintenance in an expeditious manner.

With proven products and experienced, responsive support staff, a partnership with Valor Systems is the obvious choice to take your agency to new levels of productivity, response time, and overall efficiency.

Project Management

Implementing any new system creates a dynamic interplay between Change and Stability. Positive and sustainable growth usually occurs in short periods of change followed by relatively longer periods of stability. Valor’s project implementation work plan is centered on these periodic phases and their inherent dynamics. We understand that every public safety automation project involves tremendous amounts of change, from the initial System Planning phase to the final Post Implementation Support phase. We therefore break our implementation plans down into manageable increments of change, with designed-in schedule flexibility, to result in lasting periods of growth and stability.

We employ project management principles and practices acquired over decades of education and experience. We use MS Project as our primary tool for scheduling tasks and tracking resources. We conduct both on-site and telephonic project status meetings at a frequency determined by the client. Project documentation is prepared using applications in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Prior to and during our status meetings, issues are identified and assigned to specific individuals for investigation and resolution.

Training and Documentation

Valor Systems believes that People really make the difference between successful and not-so-successful projects. Well-trained personnel paired with a sophisticated computer system are a winning combination in any environment. We therefore stress the importance of structured classroom and hands-on training.

Prior to the actual classes, though, trainees are given an opportunity to become familiar with the Valor Incident Management System. A User Manual is provided in advance so operators of the system will be better prepared for the ensuing instruction.

User manuals consist of system overviews, functions and features, procedures, and methods of obtaining Help.

Training is specialized as it applies to dispatchers, officers, and supervisors / system administrators. Valor Systems uses both “Train the Trainer” and "Direct End-User" training methods, where appropriate. Generally, we provide direct training to the system administrators and dispatch personnel. For field and managerial personnel, we usually employ the Train-the-Trainer method.

Valor Systems, Inc. also provides a complete set of technical documentation.

The technical manual incorporates all system application and network information as determined at final system acceptance. It contains a complete inventory of all programs, their version / release numbers, and the equipment on which they are installed. In addition, there are formatted, yet blank, sections in which system administrators can insert the details specific to their configuration, including, but not limited to:

* System Flows
* Program Module Descriptions
* Program Modifications (and dates executed)
* Screens / Report Layouts
* Data Models
* Naming Conventions
* Error Messages and Actions giving rise to them
* Data dictionary
